Falklands – Containers missed from V559

Posted on 08/07/2025

We have been advised by the shipping line that three of our containers have missed V559 and will now arrive on V561. This is due to severe congestion at the ports. These containers make up the majority of our cargo for V559 so will cause significant disruption to our services.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this delay and will work to get these containers unloaded as soon as possible once they arrive on island.

The below information has been received from the shipping line –

Further to the previous updates regarding change of load port from London Gateway to Southampton, despite all efforts with the short notice and severe congestion at the Southampton quay, the below containers missed the port cut off and has not loaded to the vessel. Recovery options have been investigated to load via a feeder service in Europe however with ongoing congestions at all European ports no viable recovery option is available.

The containers will now load from Southampton on the 11th of July and arrive in Montevideo on the 16th of August, currently missing our sailing for V559. Therefore, new connection is expected to be with V561, arriving in Stanley 21st September, if SAAS are to carry out any additional sailings prior to this, then we can expect it to arrive earlier. We will keep you updated.
